As a construction advisor, we not only visit site regularly, we can also offer the below services:

Design Review – the review of consultants documentation for the purpose of mitigating variations and delays.

Lead Consultant – by acting as lead consultant, we are in a position to review other consultants designs to ensure they adhere to project time frames and design requirements and constraints.

Construction Details – We have developed a portfolio of construction details that we can tailor to suit your organisation, this development of generic details allows quality and efficiency in both the design and construction phases.

Construction Reporting – We can establish a recurring site inspection and reporting process across your projects, to ensure both the head contractors and subcontractors are complying with the design documentation.

Quality Assurance – When completing the above site inspections, we will check the workmanship for compliance to the applicable standards, codes and manufacturers guidelines.

Progress Claim Reviews – Often when a project is nearing completion, our services are requested to complete a defect report to assess the status and quality of the works prior to payment being released. (Note- this is often a rushed item due to tight time restraints by SOPA)

Defect Reporting – this is a regular part of our business which we do week in, week out. From taking up carpet to check waterstops to bathrooms, or climbing up on roofs to check waterproof terminations, are all part of our standard inspection process.

Expert Witness – if a project is entering the realm of litigation, our services are called upon to complete status reports, defects reports and expert witness reports. This often includes the compilation of a “Scott Schedule”, which tables the costs to remediate the defective items.

Waterproofing Specifications – a common component of the design process which we are involved in is completing a project specific waterproofing specification. This details the products to different areas, falls, location of upturns, hobs, overflows, etc.

Dispute Advisor – often prior to a dispute escalating to litigation, we are requested to meet with both parties, explain the issue(s) at hand and assist with coming to a resolution. As having worked on both sides, we find ourselves able to relate and explain the positions to both parties, which assist greatly in attaining an amicable resolution.
